Following two years of conference interruption due to COVID 19, we are glad to present you with an international conference that includes all aspects of ORL, Audiology and Speech Therapy this year; I’d like in this occasion to begin by wishing you and your family the best of health and safety during the pandemic times.
I am delighted to extend an invitation to all of you to attend the 23rd Annual National Conference of Otolaryngology & Head & Neck Surgeons of Oman, which will be held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman from September 23 to 24, 2022; this conference will be organized in conjunction with the 15th GCC ORL H&N Society Conference.
We feel that this event will provide an important forum for sharing the latest updates as well as a great opportunity to network with local experts, trainers, regional and international professors in the field of Otolaryngology, Audiology and Speech Therapy adding value to your relevant daily practice.
Our objective to engage our members and assist them achieve excellence and offer high-quality, evidence-informed, and equitable ORL, Audiology and Speech Therapy health care experiences; through active interactions between attendants, professional trainers, professors, health professionals, health policy advocacy members and specialized physicians.

Dr Janan Al Abduwani is a consultant ENT Surgeon with over 11 years of experience. She had completed her Medical Graduation From Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. hen she did her Internship from the various hospital in Oman followed by a year as a general physician. She then joined the Oman medical speciality Board post graduation program for Otorhinolaryngology residency program. Thereafter she went for fellowship in one of the most renowned hospitals, Queen Elizabeth Hospital under the ersity hospital of Birmingham, UK. She then obtained the European board fellowship certificate for Otorhinolaryngology. She currently works as a consultant in AL Nahda hospital as well as a visiting consultant in Apolo Hospital She is trained in the Endoscopic as well as conventional surgeries of ear, nose and throat. She has a good amount of experience in surgeries for, endoscopic sinus surgeries, septal deviations, vocal cord surgeries, ear surgeries and tonsils and adenoid surgeries.

Dr. Javer completed his undergraduate education at Simon Fraser University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Molecular Biology achieving 1st class honors. Dr. Javer proceeded to UBC where he earned his medical degree, graduating in 1991. After a one-year internship at the University of Saskatchewan at the Regina General Hospital, Dr. Javer returned to Vancouver and UBC to continue his studies. Dr. Javer completed an additional four-year otolaryngology (one year research) and one year core general surgery training, earning his specialist credentials. In 1998, Dr. Javer proceeded to complete a two-year fellowship at the Georgia Nasal and Sinus Institute in Savannah, Georgia, specializing in Advanced Rhinology and Sinus/Skull Base Surgery under the directorship of Dr. Frederick A Kuhn.
I consider myself an educationalist, a surgeon, a clinical supervisor, a researcher and manager. I am a National Teaching Fellow and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I'm also and Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators.I see one of the principal functions of the ‘Educator’ is to act as a ‘role model’ for their students and trainees, inspiring them, making them aware of their potential and helping them realise their ambitions. Throughout my career, I have been committed to learning and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students and trainees in Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing. This has been at multiple levels including curriculum design, quality assurance, mentorship, educational innovations, and learning resources.

Dr. Abdulmonem Hasan Alshaikh, MD, is a Senior ENT Consultant at Saudi German Hospital, Jeddah. He has 35 years of experience in the field of ENT and specializes in performing head and neck surgery, tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, stapedectomy, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, rhinoplasty, Laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty (LAUP), turbinectomy, direct laryngoscopy, adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy, myringotomy, grommet insertion, otoplasty, and head and neck biopsy.
Dr. Alshaikh is a member of the prestigious German Society of Otorhinolaryngology (ORL), Head and Neck Surgery; Saudi Otorhinolaryngology (ORL) Society; Saudi Association for Hearing Impairment (SAHI)and the Pan Arab Rhinology Society (PARS).

I have held the substantive Chair in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery – one of very few in the UK – since 1995. I was the second female to be appointed to a UK chair in a surgical discipline. As Hon Consultant otolaryngologist at NuTH, I have a subspecialist clinical practice in throat symptoms, management of common nasal disorders and persistent physical (unexplained) symptoms. I have developed a new service for local anesthetic vocal cord medialisation and biopsy.
