Yaser AL Sabi

Dr. Yaser is currently the Director of both the Master Program in Speech-Language Pathology and the Bachelor Program in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences in Dar Al-Hekma University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Yaser received his doctorate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Howard University, Washington DC, USA in 2007. He also holds two master’s degrees in the same field. He received his first master’s degree in Speech Pathology and Communication Disorders from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan in 1994 and his second master’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from San Jose' State University, San Jose', California, USA in 1999. Dr. Al-Sa'bi is a bilingual ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist (SLP).  Dr. Al-Sa’bi was the Head of Hearing Rehabilitation Unit at King Abdullah Ear Specialist Center (KAESC) in King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA between September 2015 and September 2016.  Dr. Al-Sa'bi worked as a consultant SLP at the Prince Georges County Public Schools, Maryland, USA, for four years between 2004 and 2008 and as an assistant professor at the Jordan University for Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan between 2008 and 2009. Dr. Al-Sa'bi also worked as a bilingual speech-language pathologist and a clinical supervisor at Jeddah Institute for Speech and Hearing (JISH), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between 1996 and 2003. He also worked as the Head of Clinical Research Unit, bilingual speech-language pathologist and a clinical supervisor at Jeddah Institute for Speech and Hearing (JISH), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, between July 2009 and May 2015. Dr. Al-Sa'bi has developed and standardized many assessment tools in Arabic such as the Jordanian Expressive Vocabulary test (JEVT), Saudi Expressive Vocabulary Test, JISH Articulation Test (JAT), and JISH School Readiness Screening Test.
