Lutheran Social Service of MN is seeking an experienced HR professional with proven strategic expertise for the position of Vice President, HR. The successful candidate will lead a team of 11 HR professionals and manage a budget of over $2 million. This executive role provides leadership for the HR function and is responsible for developing HR strategies that support the organization’s multi-year goals related to service innovation, health outcomes, and its commitment to Social Justice and Anti-Racism.

The VP of HR will serve as a member of the CEO's Cabinet, advise the executive team, and act as the primary HR Business Partner to senior leadership.

Primary roles and responsibilities include:

  1. Providing leadership to the HR team;
  2. Developing and leading the strategic direction of HR practices;
  3. Overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, engagement, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and workforce analytics;
  4. Supporting initiatives that promote Anti-Racism and Social Justice;
  5. Demonstrating behaviors aligned with the LSS mission and its commitments to Trustworthiness, Social Justice, and Racial Equity.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Business Administration.

Work Experience:

  • At least 7 years of senior leadership experience in HR, including legal compliance, staffing, recruitment, compensation, benefits, learning and development, and HRIS/LMS systems;
  • Experience in Organizational Development practices to achieve operational excellence in complex environments.
