Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Ladson, SC to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial facility. This is a full-time position. Daily duties and responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining buildings/facilities, performing heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. The janitor notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems. They establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. The janitor complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities. The cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned. Duties also include cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them, following procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures, utilizing ladders, dusting and washing furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment, cleaning ceilings and dusting light fixtures and ceiling vents, removing stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions, preparing cleaning solutions per specifications, stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors, cleaning and vacuuming carpeted areas including application of spot cleaning treatment, gathering trash and emptying in appropriate trash and recycling bins, wiping and cleaning tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc., cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures, servicing, cleaning, and supplying restrooms, cleaning interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, keeping janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintaining equipment in good working order, monitoring building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created, driving vehicles if required to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, providing special cleaning and support during client events as needed, and performing miscellaneous duties as assigned. Minimum requirements include at least a High School Diploma or GED Certificate, at least 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, ability to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization (US citizenship or Permanent Residency required), may require a valid driver’s license, and physical/special requirements such as repetitive motions, walking extensively, regularly lifting up to 30 lbs, working at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions, ability to differentiate colors, wearing personal protective equipment, and coping with job-related stressors.
