Supports the maintenance, repairs, and inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment. Major Tasks and Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding propane and diesel forklift engines; diagnosing failures and maintaining all systems and parts associated with forklifts; using hydraulic jacks to gain access to the underside of the units for maintenance and repairs; conducting regular inspections of forklifts to identify any issues; performing routine maintenance on forklifts such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and battery maintenance; monitoring and managing parts inventory levels and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs. Preferred Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of forklift experience, and possession of an ASE master mechanic certification.
