Job Description

A Structural Design Engineer with detailed experience delivering Overhead Steel Lattice towers and other Transmission line structures, e.g. transmission poles and termination gantries, and a strong awareness of the health and safety impact of transmission line/overhead line construction projects is required by a large, world-leading engineering consultancy with offices just North of Orlando, Florida, to work in a hybrid role.

$100-125k + 401k + Medical + Dental

Essential skills required by the Structural Engineer would include

• Detailed experience of delivering Overhead Steel Lattice towers and other Transmission line structures, e.g. transmission poles and termination gantries.
• Awareness of key Health and Safety impacts on OHL construction contracts.
• Fluent spoken and written English language.
• Ability to work as part of a dispersed and remote team and be able to communicate through collaboration software such as Microsoft Teams.
• You must have a right to work in the US currently, without sponsorship.

Desirable skills required by the Structural Engineer would include

• Ideally experience in working on OHL Steel Transmission towers for high voltage up to 400kV.
• Experience utilizing PLS Tower CAD design software.
• Experience in working on Steel Lattice transmission tower lines.
• Experience of providing engineering inputs to OHL Construction activities including the planning and delivery of OHL Construction.
• Understanding of engineering management including schedule and cost management.
• Experience supporting tendering activities.
• Experience presenting technical outputs and supporting client engagements.

Purpose of the Structural Design Engineer Position:

Ensure the Transmission Tower structural assessment and design outputs assigned, delivered against the allocated programme and budget. Identification and implementation delivery improvements in the team including targeted staff development.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead approval activities on OHL Structural engineering deliverables across our team.
• Support work acquisition and development activities.
• Support safety by design assessments throughout the design process.
• Integrate and support the development of innovation within project solutions.
• Create design deliverables to confirm the outputs of the engineering studies to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure, as far as practicable, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and programme.
• Keep up to date with all technical quality management procedures, developments and specifications related to the discipline work scope.
