We are seeking to hire a Fleet Manager to manage all associated activities of Fleet Operations for NEP Transportation. This person will be responsible for approximately 45 vehicles and drivers. We prefer a person with a Class A CDL. Effective communication skills (written and verbal) are a must. In this role you will be involved in some of the biggest Media / Broadcasting / Sporting Events in the world.

This is a Full-Time position based on-site at our Pittsburgh location. This position requires full commitment, and the person will be on call 24/7. We strongly desire this person to live locally or be willing to relocate to the Pittsburgh area. We will also consider a person that lives local to our facility in Van Nuys, CA. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Key duties include:
  • Supervise the Fleet Department consisting of a Fleet Safety Coordinator, Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, Mobile Unit Drivers, and Independent Contract Drivers.
  • Work with Human Resources to coordinate all recruitment, orientation, performance review and related employment activities.
  • Ensure all operator documents required are current and on file such as licenses, driver’s logs, trip reports, and drug testing results.
  • Provide maintenance of all mobile units (tractors and trailers) such as engine repairs, body work and inspections.
  • Analyze fleet operational and maintenance data to coordinate schedules for mobile unit maintenance work to ensure timely completion of maintenance of units.
  • Comply with safety requirements and operate in accordance with OSHA and other mandated regulations ensuring that all units are equipped with current permits, registrations, safety kits, etc. and updated as required.
  • Ensure that all vehicle, driver, and related regulations are met as regulated through the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA).
  • Provide support on special projects while working with Vice President of Operations, Project Manager, Senior Vice President of Engineering, Chief Engineer, and related staff.

Requirements:
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience managing fleet operations in a similar environment required.
  • Excellent PC skills including Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Extensive knowledge of budgets, ordinances, practices, procedures, and terminology needed.
  • Current knowledge of Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA previously known as Department of Transportation or DOT) requirements as well as other Federal, State, and applicable requirements.
  • Must have a Commercial Driver’s license.
  • Organizational skills and communication skills are essential.
  • Must have Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics Management, Engineering, or related field. Any combination of training, education and experience in fleet management will be considered.
