The Gorge Amphitheater is seeking a Zero Waste Coordinator to help us take our sustainability programs to the next level. This role is the backbone and driving force behind Live Nation’s resource recovery and circularity program and is responsible for ensuring maximum landfill diversion during event waste sorting, educating both fans and staff, and supporting your Venue Sustainability Manager’s efforts contributing to the venue sustainability culture. This position will work under the Venue Sustainability Manager and be part of the venue operations team. Coming into 2024, The Gorge Amphitheater is setting new targets to become an industry leader in zero waste. Meeting this goal will be a priority task for the Venue Sustainability Manager, and therefore all the Zero Waste Coordinators at this venue. This is a seasonal, part-time position for show days. Hours per week will vary depending on show schedule and business needs at the time. Responsibilities include participating in onboarding training, assisting in mid- and post-show waste sorting of recycling, composting, donations, and landfill materials, working show and non-show days to ensure waste is sorted and diverted, relaying observations for program improvement, contributing ideas to improve material circularity, assisting with educational support to crew and fans, maintaining a clean sorting area, supporting post-show pick up, ensuring compliance with local environmental policies, and other tasks as assigned by the Venue Sustainability Manager.The role requires physical activity such as walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50+ lbs, working outside in variable weather, strong time management, teamwork, a positive attitude, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
