Position Summary

Responsible for managing work load as well as upholding quality of weldments. Making sure employees stay on task to hit the deadlines on projects.

Responsibilities

  • Layout and assemble weldments using hand tools (tape measures, squares, clamps, etc);
  • Weld parts per print;
  • Complete any necessary inspection worksheets;
  • Maintain minimal re-work or scrap;
  • Operate fork trucks and overhead cranes safely; material handling
  • Maintain and utilize lifting / rigging equipment;
  • Keep a clean and organized work area;
  • Provide feedback for areas of improvement in shop (i.e., workflow efficiency);
  • Process work records and / or documentation as required; and inspect weldments
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of MIG welding experience preferred
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent degree required;
  • Competent in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • 2+ years in reading and interpreting blueprints including GD&T;
  • Proficient using layout and hand tools (tape measures, scales, calipers, squares, etc.;
  • Ability to set various weld parameters per process (MIG, TIG);
  • High attention to detail and quality;
  • Ability to adequately manage workload under pressure;
  • Team player with useful organizational and time management skills;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, measuring tools, processes / procedures, etc.

Nonessential Skills and Experience

  • Safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards. 

Environmental, Health and Safety

  • Understand the Company’s EH&S Policy and how it relates to this job;
  • Be aware of OSHA & EPA laws and regulations as well as company rules and policies that pertain to this job;
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures;
  • Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures; and
  • Attend required EH&S training.
