Special Education Teacher at Birch Agency summary:

The Special Education Teacher provides tailored instruction and support to high school students with mild to moderate disabilities, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborating with educational teams. Job Details:

• Start: August 11, 2025

• Monday-Friday

• 40 hrs/week

• High School age group

• Mild/Moderate

• Caseload: 12

• Push in and pull out services

• Location: Sonoma, CA

• Pay dependent on experience but starting at $50/hr

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution

• Valid state license or certification for Mild to Moderate Education Specialist

• Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs

Responsibilities:

As a Special Education Teacher with Birch Agency, you will:

• Provide direct/group instructions to students with disabilities

• Develop lesson plans/instructional material to meet needs of student’s IEP

• Conduct educational assessments

• Attend IEP meetings

• Assist in planning and development of IEP

• Facilitate implementation of special education services

• Collaborate with other members who are part of the special education team

• Employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners

• Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers and staff to support student’s academic success

• Modify traditional education curriculum to meet student’s needs

• Ensure appropriate accommodations are available for classroom instruction and testing

• Employ techniques for positive behavioral support

• Assist in the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions
