Senior Software Engineer, Booking Orchestration Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. The Orchestration team is a high-impact team focused on building the next generation of our order orchestration system. We collaborate with Bookings, Payments, and Trust teams and cross-functional partners to improve the efficiency, reliability, and ergonomics of the system. We seek to drive innovative solutions that will enable us to revolutionize the travel experience and advance Airbnb’s mission. The Difference You Will Make: Architect, build, launch, and operate booking engineering systems to improve booking experience, system scalability, and performance. Design and implement complex features, focusing on data-driven decision making and performance optimizations. Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners across Bookings, Payments, and Trust to understand and prioritize technical requirements that enhance the Airbnb booking experience. Proactively grow knowledge of leading-edge practices involving workflow orchestration systems. Help define and improve coding standards, development processes, and best practices. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Your Expertise: 6+ years of engineering experience with a BS/Master's and 2+ years with a PhD. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS or equivalent experience. Experience in building and scaling high-quality, high-traffic products or systems. Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design solutions to solve real-world problems. Ability to drive alignment, manage projects, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Your Location: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
