Position Overview

This role serves as the product champion for the Geiger | DatesWeiser product lines, developing, implementing, and managing product activities to maximize sales and profits. The role involves managing the product lines to support corporate strategies, including cross-platform processes, and acting as a key leader within product marketing.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute product plans and strategies for Geiger | DatesWeiser lines.
  • Lead pricing, discounting strategies, and ongoing analysis to optimize financial performance.
  • Provide feedback to innovation and development teams; support launch plans.
  • Make decisions regarding data management system functionalities.
  • Support strategic sales initiatives and provide product updates to sales teams.
  • Define analytical tools for decision-making related to product groups.
  • Determine product sales support and training needs.
  • Lead internal and external presentations for product training and other opportunities.
  • Address quality issues, evaluate, and implement necessary changes impacting P&L.
  • Manage the financial health of the product line, including P&L responsibility.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle from introduction to discontinuation, providing input on product simplification or discontinuation.
  • Mentor colleagues, set priorities in the absence of the Work Team Leader, and lead internship programs.
  • Identify opportunities for product extensions and new platforms; serve as a core team member.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to meet business goals.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in Marketing, Business Administration, or Interior Design.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in product management/marketing or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years in project management or leadership roles.
  • Experience with contract furniture or capital goods is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of customer and sales processes.
  • Knowledge of operations, supply management, and value streams.
  • Understanding of Herman Miller's channels and functions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, entrepreneurial, and risk-taking mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
  • Leadership and mentoring skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with market research and product platform teams.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Financial acumen and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with office software and communication tools.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
