Position Title: Project Manager Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Reports To: Director of Project Management

Location: City of Industry, CA

Salary Range: $110,000 $140,000 + Operations Bonus Plan

Exact starting salary will be determined by location, experience, education, skills, and relevant industry expertise. A competitive benefits package is included.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction projects from inception to completion. This role will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and on-site execution.

The position involves occasional travel to project sites and requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of BESS construction projects.
• Manage schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Oversee procurement processes and ensure timely material deliveries.
• Track productivity, analyze project performance, and produce status reports.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and company policies.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.

Certifications:

• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy, preferably photovoltaic (PV) or battery storage systems.
• Proven track record in managing electrical or renewable energy construction projects.

Other Requirements:

• Strong understanding of project cost accounting, scheduling, and procurement processes.
• Experience working with union labor forces and understanding labor rate structures preferred.
• Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available).
