Job Description

Production Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing activities of production, monitoring safety, scheduling, mentoring, corrective actions and problem solving by performing their duties personally or through leading subordinate Team Members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring that proper manning levels of trained and cross-trained in all production departments and Team Members are maintained.
  • Use Continuous Improvement Process to make the plant safer and increase profitability.
  • Ensure that all following cards and processes are revised as necessary to reflect the process and that all processes stated are followed.
  • Assist in ensuring that all aspects of the quality system controlled by the Production Departments are maintained.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a list of capital improvement projects.
  • Control scrap through prevention, investigation and correction of processes as required.
  • Assist in the initiation and follow-up corrective action requests (CAR’s) for castings & process as needed.
  • Assist in ensuring the proper sampling techniques are followed for new and existing jobs.
  • In conjunction with Safety and Engineering, identify hazards.
  • Assist in the follow-up on all Production operations, initial investigation of accidents, change processes, retrain Team Members and adjust PPE requirements as necessary.
  • Participation in Production departments internal auditing and/or audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Production leadership.
  • 5-7 years job experience.
  • Must have previous manufacturing experience, metal casting or machining is preferred
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
