Position: AI & Data Science Summer Intern in Product Management at Align Technology, Inc.


We are seeking a highly motivated and curious AI & Data Science Intern to join our team for the summer. This is an exciting opportunity for a student passionate about using data and AI to solve complex, real-world problems. You'll work on projects that directly contribute to our mission, helping us improve treatment modalities, enhance digital tools, and uncover insights from millions of patients and doctors.


In this position you will leverage your problem-solving skills to improve lives. You'll be mentored by experienced product managers, data scientists and engineers, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Problem Identification & Framing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define key business and clinical problems that can be solved with AI and data science.

* Data Analysis & Exploration: Gather, clean, and analyze large, complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.

* Model Development: Assist in building, training, and evaluating machine learning models and algorithms to address specific problems. This could include tasks like predictive modeling or computer vision.

* Prototyping & Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing of models to ensure they are accurate, reliable, and ethical.

* Insights & Communication: Visualize and present your findings and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely.

What We're Looking For

* Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.

* Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling difficult challenges with a data-driven approach.

* Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python or R, with experience in relevant libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).

* Solid understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning principles.

* Experience with SQL for data querying.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

* An eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, innovative environment.
