We envision our chef working directly with our teaching staff and the young children they educate. Must have a sense of developmentally appropriate practice with children ages 1-8 years and be willing to participate in educational events including engaging young children in food preparation, hosting classroom kitchen visits, soliciting feedback from children and teachers on menus, etc. Must be comfortable and professional interacting with toddlers, preschoolers, school age children, teaching staff and families.

  • This is a year round position, with paid time off during holiday breaks when our school is closed.
  • We expect this to be a daytime, salaried position, with 30 hours or less of actual work per week. Be out each day by 2pm. No late nights!
  • The food for the program is heavily grant funded. Our chef will work directly with local meat and vegetable producers and gain experience with farm-to-table cusine. Build community relationships and learn about food production.
  • The kitchen is BRAND NEW with high-quality appliances. A chef's dream!
  • Applicants who apply early and are hired will have the opportunity to help us source additional food prep and cooking equipment - you can stock your custom kitchen!
  • The private kitchen space has opportunities for private use. Interested in a side business creating sauces, pickles, hosting cooking classes, or more? There is potential for this type of small self-started operation outside of work hours!

Come help us lead this exciting new opportunity - apply via Indeed or directly through email at beaverbrookschool@gmail.com!
