LaSalle Network is partnering with a non-profit organization looking to hire a Pension Analyst for an immediate-start contract role in Chicago. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in pension calculations, regulatory compliance and financial data integrity.
This
Pension Analyst position sits firmly within pension administration and financial operations. You'll own pension refund calculations end to end, applying plan provisions and statutes with accuracy and consistency while maintaining strong audit trails.
What's the job? - Calculate and process pension contribution refunds in accordance with plan documents and governing statutes
- Review payroll and contribution data to determine refund eligibility, vesting status and service credit
- Perform detailed reconciliations of member contributions, earnings and adjustments
- Apply defined benefit pension plan rules consistently across individual cases
- Prepare documentation supporting refund determinations and audit reviews
- Research discrepancies and resolve historical calculation issues
- Partner with operations, accounting, compliance and audit teams
- Maintain accurate records in pension systems and Excel-based tools
What's needed? - Experience in pension administration, retirement plan operations, fund administration or financial services
- Strong understanding of defined benefit pension plans and contribution-based calculations
- Proven experience with financial calculations, reconciliations or eligibility determinations
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, analysis, data validation)
- Ability to interpret plan documents, statutes and procedural guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and process discipline
