Job Description

Natural Gas Designer

We are looking for a Natural Gas Designer to join our Industrial Commercial Energy team to improve infrastructure in our Texas offices. Candidates must have a high school diploma, and five or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas or utility industry. Experience with design programs (Civil3D) is required, and experience with CadWorx or Autodesk Plant 3d is a plus. Excellent technical writing, organization, and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations is required. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for interpreting, analyzing, organizing, executing, and coordinating new design projects and/or revisions to existing projects of varying scales and complexity
  • Apply engineering principles and procedures while performing engineering design work
  • Perform design calculations as needed
  • Provide design details as needed
  • Seek resolutions on non-standard analytical problems
  • Create estimated time requirements for projects
  • Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
  • Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis
  • Assist Project Managers as needed
  • Attend meetings as needed
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

  • High school diploma required

Skills/Experience:

  • 5 or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas or utility industry is required
  • Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity is required
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D is required
  • Experience on public utility projects is preferred
  • Experience with CadWorx, Autodesk Plant 3D is a plus
