Summary
\nThis position is responsible for welding or joining metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products by use of hand-welding and/or flame-cutting equipment
\n
\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities \n

\n\t
• Operate MIG welder \n\t
• Follow written and verbal work instructions as provided by the welding supervisor\n\t
• Review and study the blueprints provided for each job\n\t
• Inspect material to be welded to verify they can be welding according to specifications provided\n\t
• Report any defect or non-conforming part to the dept. lead immediately\n\t
• Perform functional/aesthetic welding beads\n\t
• Ability to weld fittings/etc. into fabricated steel components\n\t
• Use or request jigs as needed prior to welding\n\t
• Operate robotic welder as required\n\t
• Monitor purchased items required for welding and advise supervisor when orders need to be placed\n\t
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to perform job responsibilities safely and efficiently\n

\n Other Duties and Responsibilities \n\n

\n\t
• General clean-up/maintenance of work station(s)\n\t
• Material handling/movement of sub-assemblies to proper station(s)\n\t
• Additional manufacturing tasks as required/instructed by supervisor(s)\n

\n
\n Job Requirements \n\n

\n\t
• Ability to read tape measure/clamps and convert fractions to decimal measurements\n\t
• Ability to read and use measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers\n\t
• Must be detail-oriented\n\t
• Must be self-motivated and team oriented\n\t
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other departments\n\t
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions\n\t
• Ability to read and follow blueprints\n\t
• Specific vision aptitudes required for this job, including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus\n\t
• Must wear steel toed shoes and safety glasses in all plant facilities\n

\n Education/Training/Experience
\nSome experience in a manufacturing environment; 1-2 years of welding experience preferred
\n
\n Physical Demands \n\n

• Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms\n\t
• Regularly talk and hear\n\t
• Regularly see using close and distant vision\n\t
• Occasionally walk, climb, balance, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl\n\t
• Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50-70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance\n
