Medical Laboratory Technician

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director, the registered Medical Laboratory Technician must have a sound knowledge of Clinical Laboratory science. The employee shall have the ability to perform highly advanced technical and complex analytic work.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Associates degree in a relevant science preferred.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent registration or has completed a technician training program in a school accredited/approved by HHS or MLT eligible under Medicare laboratory regulations.

Minimum Work Experience:

• Four months' clinical laboratory internship preferred.

Required Regulations:

• Adhere to infection control policies and guidelines appropriate for their work area. Hand hygiene and PPE (job applicable) followed when appropriate.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Preferred MLT Certification

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• The registered Medical Laboratory Technician must have a sound knowledge of Clinical Laboratory science. The employee shall have the ability to perform highly advanced technical and complex analytic work.
