Job Title: Mechanic
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, as well as state and federal DOT inspections and repairs. The role involves clear documentation on work orders, inspecting trailers and semi-tractors, and performing necessary repairs. Safety and cleanliness compliance is essential, as is maintaining company service trucks and other shop work areas. Additional related duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections and repairs.
• Document work orders clearly and accurately.
• Inspect and repair trailers and semi-tractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
• Maintain company service trucks and shop work areas.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Experience with diesel mechanics, tractor and trailer repairs, and fleet maintenance.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, repair, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.
• Skills in preventive maintenance, welding, brake systems, diesel engines, schematics, engine, and transmission work.

• Open to experience; entry-level candidates willing to learn the trade are considered.
• Thermo King or Carrier Certification desired, mandatory within 6 months.
• Excellent verbal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
• Capability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, and handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to run diagnostic tests on vehicles.

Work Environment

The role is based in a mechanic shop with wash bays. The shop operates 24 hours, providing flexible start and finish times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gaylord, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $38.00/hr.
