Job Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team. Developers typically are involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement, and development work. They have a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the team. The Application Developer works with the Business Analyst, Application Architect, and other team members to ensure that design and code meet customer requirements. The contractor will collaborate and provide technical expertise to the ITO and ATCSU units to develop technical solutions for business/system requirements. All contractor personnel will be under the supervision of a Project Manager for the AOC’s Information Technology Office (ITO) or other designated ITO representative. The Mainframe consultant will develop and/or receive program specification requirements, describe coding tasks, deliver new or modified programs, perform unit testing, develop documentation, and participate in system testing. Experience with database conversions is desirable. Qualifications and Skills: Hands-on experience in coding, testing, and debugging programs written in COBOL/CICS/DB2. Experience with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and IBM/DB2. Experience with CICS. Experience in Usability Testing, participating with users in system testing. Experience in conversions from IDMS/DC to CICS, IDMS to DB2 is preferred. The consultant must communicate effectively, both written and oral, with technical and non-technical personnel. Responsibilities: Understand the Civil Case Management system and other Judiciary applications to develop from business/system requirements. Develop and receive program specifications. Deliver new or modified programs. Conduct unit and system testing with users. Develop supportive documentation.
