The Independent Contractor, Lead Generation Specialist for Loans is responsible for identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective borrowers to build a robust sales pipeline for the Loan Officers. This is a non-closing role, focused exclusively on creating high-quality, pre-screened leads and scheduling initial appointments, not on negotiating or closing the final loan. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a persistent attitude, and a strong understanding of the Alternative Lending Industry.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Lead Identification and Generation

• Research and prospect potential loan applicants through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, social media, actual cold calling in person to businesses.

• Generate new business opportunities by making a high volume of outbound calls and sending targeted outreach messages daily.

• Develop and maintain a targeted list of prospects based on demographic, financial, and product-specific criteria.

2. Lead Qualification and Nurturing

• Conduct initial screening conversations to assess a prospect's interest, financial needs, and basic qualifications for the loan products (e.g., confirming intent, basic credit/income/collateral data, and timeline).

• Utilize established qualification criteria (e.g., BANT, ANUM) to determine if a lead is ready for handoff to CEO.

• Educate prospects on the initial features and benefits of the loan programs offered, addressing basic questions and overcoming initial objections.

• Nurture early-stage leads through follow-up calls and emails to maintain engagement until they are qualified and ready for the next stage.

3. Appointment Setting and Handoff

• Successfully schedule qualified leads for appointments or handoffs with a dedicated Loan Officer or Sales Representative.

• Provide the Loan Officer with detailed notes and all relevant pre-qualification information to ensure a smooth transition.

4. Data Management and Reporting

• Accurately track all prospecting activities, lead statuses, and contact information using the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Sheets).

• Prepare and present reports on lead generation performance and pipeline status.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Finance is a plus.

• Proven experience in a lead generation, telemarketing, or sales development role, preferably in the financial services or loan industry.

• Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills to clearly articulate value and build rapport quickly over the phone.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate CRM data entry and pipeline management.

• Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently to meet daily and weekly targets.

• Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
