Job Description

Job Description

TRC is proud to partner with a leading healthcare organization to find an experienced IT Construction Project Manager to lead the deployment of a new hospital tower and ambulatory (outpatient) facilities. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role that bridges IT infrastructure, construction management, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for end-to-end project execution — from coordinating with construction crews to ensuring all IT systems, cabling, networking, security, and clinical technology infrastructure are deployed on time and meet healthcare standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys problem-solving on-site, and can balance technical expertise, vendor coordination, and executive-level reporting. Location: Columbia County (Augusta), GA | Occasional travel to Marietta, GA

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead IT construction projects: Plan, coordinate, and oversee IT infrastructure deployment for hospital tower and ambulatory facility construction projects, including network cabling, telecom rooms, Wi-Fi, nurse call systems, and other clinical technology.
  • Project coordination and walkthroughs: Conduct regular site visits and walkthroughs to monitor construction progress, verify IT readiness, and identify risks or issues before project milestones.
  • Timeline and resource management: Create and maintain project schedules, track deliverables, and manage resources to keep projects on time and within scope.
  • Documentation and reporting: Take detailed site notes, prepare project reports, maintain punch lists, and communicate status updates to stakeholders, leadership, and vendors.
  • Vendor and stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with general contractors, subcontractors, network engineers, and IT teams to resolve technical and logistical challenges.
  • Issue resolution: Troubleshoot IT infrastructure problems, escalate when needed, and ensure timely remediation to avoid delays.
  • Compliance and standards: Ensure that technology infrastructure complies with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Travel: Support projects locally in Columbia County/Augusta area and travel occasionally to Marietta, GA for key planning meetings.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of IT Project Management experience with a focus on construction projects, preferably in healthcare, hospital, or large-scale facility environments.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure build-outs, including low-voltage cabling, network switches, server rooms, wireless deployment, AV systems, and clinical technology systems.
  • Project management skills: Proficiency in project planning, resource coordination, and vendor management; experience with MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates to executives, technical staff, and construction partners.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to anticipate issues, analyze root causes, and take corrective action quickly.
  • Certifications: PMP, CAPM, ITIL, or Lean Six Sigma certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.
