Build the Engine Behind the Map. We’re seeking a GIS Sustainment Engineer to power the spatial intelligence that drives critical decisions. You'll design and deliver robust, scalable services for ingesting, storing, and querying geospatial data at scale. Note: US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory for this position. Must be open to CI Poly. 

Location: Herndon, VA , Westminster, CO . This is a full-time onsite position; hybrid/remote work not supported.

Principal Responsibilities:  

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support the deployment, integration, and ongoing operation of enterprise GIS tools, with a focus on Esri Enterprise and open-source technologies.  
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers to integrate, document, and support analytic capabilities within for geospatial use case .  
• Diagnose and resolve issues across commercial and open-source technology stack, including networking, automation workflows, and infrastructure components.  
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and collaboration across roles.  

Skills Required  

• 4+ years of technical experience in deploying and maintaining GIS capabilities in to operations :  
  • Demonstrated experience with transitioning and maintaining software solutions with the Esri Enterprise stack in secure environments  
  • Proficiency with some of the following languages: Python, R, Java, JavaScript , bash 
• Commercial, open source, and custom application deployments and maintenance experience.  
• Demonstrated experience with LINUX system administration and scripting  
• Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team   
• Communicates effectively with customers and team in written and oral forums  
• Willingness to work onsite 80% or as needs dictate  
• Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field.  
• Active TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship  
• 4-year degree in GIS or engineering science (or equivalent experience)

Additional Skills Desired  

• Experience with   
  • Common industry principles and DevSecOps    
  • Postgres design and optimization   
  • D istributed processing methods and tools, such as REST APIs, microservices , IaaS / PaaS services.   
  • D eveloping and deploying web services.  
  • W orking with open-source resources in a government computing environment  
  • Big data technologies such as Accumulo , Spark, Hive, Hadoop, ElasticSearch  
• Strong Linux skills and familiarity with hybrid cloud/ on-prem architecture.  
• CompTIA Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access.   
• Experience a s a military/intelligence analyst, supporting the military/IC, or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus!
