Job Description
Job Summary (List Format):
- Assist the Department of Human Services (DHS) in managing the transition from the State Enterprise PeopleSoft system to the NexGen (Workday) application.
- Coordinate agency-level project implementation activities with State Workday ERP service providers and DHS Finance and Human Resource business units.
- Report to the DHS Deputy Commissioners of Finance and Human Resources, and the Office of Information Technology Project Management Officer.
- Align agency ERP transition/rollout activities with the state's overall PeopleSoft/Workday project schedule.
- Foster collaboration among Finance, HR, and Procurement subject matter experts within the agency.
- Communicate State NextGen project activities to appropriate agency stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Lead and facilitate meetings with agency stakeholders.
- Monitor and track transition/rollout project performance, and report status and issues to agency leadership.
- Ensure stakeholders take necessary actions to meet project goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with Workday PMO and quality assurance teams to implement new Workday standards, procedures, and quality objectives at the agency level.
- Ensure agency team members have the necessary tools and training for an effective transition to Workday.
- Monitor state milestones and critical dates to identify and address potential risks to the agency transition schedule.
- Identify and resolve schedule issues, keeping management informed of the situation.
- Conduct formal testing reviews with business leaders to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years' direct experience with Workday (NextGen) rollouts.
- 3+ years managing an enterprise NextGen Workday implementation.
- 5+ years of IT project/program management or equivalent IT team leadership experience (including high complexity projects within the last 2 years).
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or specialized training (Master's degree preferred).
- PMP certification from PMI or equivalent certification (must be uploaded).
- Experience working in state government is required.
- Proficient in MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint, MS Teams, and MS Office Business Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
