This job involves having a thorough knowledge of all distribution center functions and procedures. Putaway driver must ensure product is placed in the right lane/location. Major responsibilities include reading labels and quantities of merchandise, obtaining merchandise from inline stretch or lanes, removing merchandise from conveyors and placing in correct lane/location, arranging things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to specific rules, using finger scanner/RDT to place or locate pallets, and other assignments as assigned. Requirements include being in the My Work Choice Core Program or Full Time Associate, broad knowledge of distribution center functions and layout, ability to operate powered equipment efficiently and safely, ability to work on a forklift for entire shift, ability to work alone in a Finger Scanner/RDT directed job, achieving productivity and quality standards, familiarity with product by catalog number and handling characteristics, maintaining a clean and safe work area, above average attendance and response to overtime, ability to follow instructions and use math skills, and ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly. Physical demands include sitting continuously, talking, hearing, using a computer mouse and keypad, minimal typing, and vision abilities for close computer screen focus. Work environment is a warehouse, usually moderately loud, and non-climate-controlled.
