TEKsystems is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Technician to support the rebuild of a Nashville-based office and key installation projects. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering high-quality service across a variety of low voltage systems.

You’ll be responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems, with opportunities to work on access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems. This is a hands-on role with room for growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program, start-up, and commission new fire alarm installations
• Troubleshoot and service fire alarms and related low voltage systems
• Assist with and lead installation projects, ensuring quality and code compliance
• Communicate clearly with project leads and clients regarding progress and challenges
• Review design documents and contracts for accuracy before installation
• Complete detailed reports and respond to emergency service calls as needed
• Maintain strong communication and attention to detail throughout all phases of work
• Participate in rotating on-call schedules and shift assignments as needed

Top Skills Needed:

• Fire alarm installation and troubleshooting
• Cat6 cabling and low voltage systems
• Experience with Honeywell systems (preferred)
• CCTV, access control, nurse call, and intercom systems
• Use of hand tools, multi-meters, and lifts
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in fire alarm or low voltage systems
• Strong technical and computer skills
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to work on-site during regular business hours and respond to service calls
• Comfortable using ladders and lifts for elevated work
• Reliable attendance and commitment to team success

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
