Job Title: Structural Engineer – Aluminum and Glazing Façade Systems

Location: Honolulu, HI

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer - Aluminum and Glazing Facade Systems Specialty - to join our growing team in Honolulu. The ideal candidate will have experience in façade or curtain wall engineering including system development, consulting, and structural detailing. This person will have deep knowledge of aluminum/glass exterior systems for hise-rise, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles and the ability to work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and other engineers.

Job Description:

· Lead structural and system design for curtain wall and façade engineering projects, ensuring high standards in design integrity and performance.

· Collaborate closely with local and overseas fabrication teams to engineer and optimize aluminum and glazing systems for commercial and institutional buildings. Coordinate with clients and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of our products.

· Provide expert consulting on exterior systems in accordance with local building codes.

· Review system shop drawings for structural and Code compliance utilizing advanced CAD software.

· Shop drawings include building floor plans and elevations, floor plans and elevations, and installation details to support structures.

· Perform calculations and analyses of structural members in aluminum, steel and glass. Analyze and design based on allowable stresses and deformations. Design adequate connections based on loads and constructability.

· Perform onsite inspections and field testing of building envelope components including glass and glazing, waterproofing and roofing systems.

• Communicate technical information effectively to clients and stakeholders, providing explanations of design concepts, methodologies, and benefits.
• Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards, including those related to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Specialty in facade engineering is advantageous.
• High-level proficiency in CAD and structural drawing software (MIDAS Gen, ETABS, SAP2000).
• Experience collaborating with manufacturers.
• Must be detail oriented & ensure accuracy in all aspects of the work.
• Business Presentation Level English.
• Well versed with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Power Point.
• Expertise in aluminum/glass/steel specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage or contribute to projects from design phase through to fabrication and construction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in facade engineering or structural design, particularly in building envelope systems.
• Familiarity with U.S. construction documentation and code requirements (IBC, ASCE, ASTM standards).
• Patent or product development experience.
• Prior training or teaching experience in CAD or architectural engineering.
