About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead and enhance its risk, compliance, information security, BSA, and CRA programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the governance of risks, the development and monitoring of the Enterprise Risk Management Program, and ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of risk management practices. This role involves partnering with the business leadership team to identify and address relevant risks, implementing risk reporting to senior management and the board, and developing a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with business strategy and regulatory requirements. The CRO will also oversee compliance with consumer protection laws, BSA requirements, and maintain robust information security policies to protect customer data. Applicants for the CRO position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree and significant experience in banking risk and compliance, with a focus on consumer and community banking. The role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in leading teams and a deep understanding of risk management, including operational risk, fraud prevention, and crisis management. The CRO will be expected to continuously monitor and improve risk management practices, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure that all areas of the organization receive the necessary education and training to comply with relevant laws and regulations. Collaboration with the CFO, oversight of information security and vendor management, and direct interaction with regulators are also key aspects of the role.
