Job Description

Associate Pediatric Dentist - Grand Rapids, MI Overview:

This full-time role for an Associate Pediatric Dentist in Grand Rapids, MI, provides practical mentorship in pediatric dental practices, including moderate sedation and general anesthesia. The position is situated in a contemporary, patient-centered clinic with potential for ownership and partnership, catering to a substantial and dedicated patient community. Ideal candidates should be collaborative, focused on personal and professional growth, and hold or be in the process of obtaining ABPD board certification along with a valid Michigan dental license.

Associate Pediatric Dentist – Mentorship – Ownership / Partnership Potential

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Status: Full-Time | 4 Days/Week (8 AM – 3 PM) with an option for 5 days (Monday–Friday; Friday hours conclude at 2 PM)

Compensation & Benefits: $240,000–$400,000+ annually (current associate earns $400,000 on a 4-day work week)

Why You’ll Enjoy Working Here

At our organization, we believe pediatric dentistry should be enjoyable, fulfilling, and of the highest quality. With two successful locations about 25 minutes apart (Caledonia and Grand Rapids), you will become part of a well-established, patient-first private practice where mentorship, advanced technology, and a collaborative team environment thrive. You will work in two modern facilities, both less than five years old, equipped with CO₂ and diode lasers, overhead TVs, and Bluetooth headphones at every chair. From your first day, you will have a full schedule, serving a loyal patient base of over 13,000 active patients with 400 new patients each month. We are a team-oriented and community-focused practice dedicated to making a lasting impact on the families we serve—both in and out of the office.

Mentorship at Our Practice

You will work closely with experienced board-certified pediatric dentists, gaining hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of pediatric dentistry. This includes moderate conscious sedation, general anesthesia cases, and more. You will learn effective techniques for safe, efficient, and confident treatment in a structured, hands-on environment designed to help you develop into a well-rounded provider quickly.

Is This the Right Practice for You?

This practice is ideal for you if you are positive, team-oriented, and eager to develop into a skilled pediatric provider, proficient in moderate sedation and advanced pediatric procedures through hands-on mentorship. You thrive in fast-paced settings, enjoy working with children, and arrive each day ready to learn and support your colleagues. If you prefer a more independent, slower-paced environment focused solely on basic pediatric dentistry, this may not be the right fit. We seek someone who flourishes in a dynamic atmosphere and enjoys being part of a larger mission.

Our Core Values

  • Good Vibes, Great Attitude – We approach each day with positivity, treating everyone with kindness and compassion. Whether supporting a teammate or uplifting a patient, we strive to enhance our work environment and embrace change, welcoming feedback that fosters growth.
  • Expect Excellence – We are committed to continuous improvement, ensuring every team member enhances their skills and provides exceptional experiences for patients and families. We uphold the highest standards of care, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Team First – Ego has no place here. We collaborate, celebrate each other's contributions, and support one another. Loyalty, trust, and a shared commitment to our mission define our operations, and we show up for our teammates every day.
  • Do the Right Thing – Integrity is fundamental to our identity. We prioritize the best interests of our patients, teammates, and practice, consistently choosing the ethical path. Helping each other and working towards shared goals is part of our core values.
  • Open and Honest – We value genuine, respectful, and transparent communication. This includes active listening, open dialogue, acknowledging mistakes, and learning from them. Our culture encourages authenticity and feedback to foster improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric dental care.
  • Administer treatment under moderate sedation and office-based general anesthesia (mentorship available if you lack experience in this area).
  • Obtain hospital privileges to treat special needs patients at the local children's hospital.
  • Effectively communicate treatment plans to parents and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with hygienists, assistants, and a team of over 40 members across two advanced offices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and remain adaptable to team needs.
  • Enhance your clinical and leadership abilities in a mentorship-rich environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan dental license
  • ABPD diplomate status or actively pursuing ABPD board certification
  • PALS certification

Compensation & Benefits

● Competitive Pay: $1,200 daily guarantee or 30–35% of monthly production (whichever is higher)

● Ownership / Partnership Opportunity

● Relocation Bonus

● Real Mentorship (from experienced professionals)

● CE Allowance

● Health Insurance Stipend

● Lab Fees Covered

Why This Position Stands Out

  • Ownership Track – There is a clear pathway to gain equity after 1–2 years for associates who are dedicated and aligned with the practice. We aim to cultivate long-term partners rather than short-term hires.
  • Mentorship Culture – You will receive hands-on training in moderate sedation, case planning, and practice leadership from seasoned professionals who are passionate about teaching. If you are eager to grow, this is the ideal environment—with genuine support and constructive feedback. Additionally, our Grand Rapids location offers unique opportunities to network and collaborate within a vibrant local dental community, further enhancing your professional development and connections.
  • Strong Infrastructure – Our two locations feature over 20 operatories, in-house orthodontics, lasers, CBCT, and general anesthesia services. We have created an environment where you can concentrate on delivering exceptional care with the necessary tools at your disposal.
  • Energetic Team – With more than 40 team members across both offices, our culture is lively, supportive, and fully committed to teamwork. Our staff genuinely cares about our mission, our patients, and each other.
  • Location Perks – Grand Rapids boasts affordable living, beautiful outdoor areas, and a vibrant downtown atmosphere. It’s an excellent place to advance your career while enjoying life outside of work.

Who We’re Seeking

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A team player who actively supports others and thrives in a collaborative setting.
  • Coachable and growth-oriented, with a strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Confident in communicating with parents, able to clearly explain treatment plans with empathy.
  • Comfortable with—or eager to learn— procedures involving moderate sedation and general anesthesia.
  • Fun and energetic, bringing positivity and warmth to create a welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and the team.
  • Flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist beyond the operatory.

Reach out today—we would love to meet you.
